Sorry I didn't follow the days to a T. I had only so much time for things. Spending 14 hours downtown and only getting 3-4 hours a night. What a whirl wind. So I gonna blog about Thursday through Saturday.
::Thursday::
Thursday was the same ol same. Waking up with no sleep and driving 30 minutes downtown. By this time we knew the way to the Nat like the backs of our hands. We weren't expecting too much from the day other than seeing Mike swim again. The funniest thing that happened was Nikki getting the "stank face" from Mike. :D:D:D The funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. We had moved down 3 rows during prelims because usually ppl would skip those until Finals. At this time Whitney and I weren't paying attention. Whit was looking at pics and I was of course looking at my phone. I look up and see Mike looking up into the stands looking for his Mom. Nikki is staring him down, he shoots her a look and I loose it. LOL!!!! It was the stank face. We all know Mike is a mouth breather and he leaves his mouth open and he had his eye brow cocked...It was sooooo funny! I looked at Nikki and she is pretty much O_O. She was on another level. Even though it wasn't a smile, she didn't care. She made eye contact and that's all she cared about. LOL! Still laugh everytime I see his face! The expression was PRICELESS. I will post a vid showcasing our impersonations of Mike's, "Stank face" LOL. And when I say stank face. I don't mean it in a negative way, we all make stank faces....LOL! :D After that, we waited in line for a few swimmers autographs. Brenden Hanson mad a special appearance he was soooo nice,PVK-no comment LOL, Mark Gangloff...again...and the piece de resistance! Ryan Lochte.I know this is Phelps Phive, but Ryan is also a favorite of mine. ESPECIALLY after this week. Anyways. We waited a few hours to get his autograph. He is super nice and laid back. If I may say...a very nice looking young man ;) He let us take pics with him, even though we weren't supposed to. :) Breakin the rules! I love it.
::Friday::
Can't have your cake and eat it too....
Friday was fun. We found out MP scratched his last race due to a neck injury. Being that it's Sunday now he's better. At least that's what I read. Mike was still around the pool deck. He would be there whenever someone from NBAC swam. At one point, we were trying to get his attention.Trying to get him to look up, so Whitney could take a picture. It was during one of the women's races. Whitney started to wave at him and I was waving my heat sheet. It was too funny because, I know he has peripheral vision and that much commotion would get your attention. I had stopped trying at one point and started to watch the race. I finally looked back down, and there he was. It seemed like we got his attention b/c he was looking at me then at Whitney. It was a really quick smile, I looked at Whitney after to confirm...because I could have been seeing things. She said, "Yeah he looked at us"....LOL so I guess it worked. But please MP if Im wrong....let me know in the comments below...kthx....lol... He doesn't read this. Anyways, later that day. We had decided to wait for some more swimmers. We were really wanting Cullen and GWG. At one point I thought MP was already at the Nat b/c I saw one of his ppl. But as soon as I went to tell Whitney...Guess who walks by? Yep, that's right...Michael himself. Whitney called out his name, I think we all did. He just kept walking....I'm assuming he was in a hurry. That's all Im gonna say. :D And agian if anyone can contest that...please comment below. :D But that's all Im gonna say. B/c we still support Mike.... You think 2 MP encounters in one day is weird...try a third. :) We decide to go downtown to eat. I have never been downtown to eat so Nikki suggested PF Chang's. So we go and we wait. As we are seated Nikki notices someone. We sit down and she says..."Turn around" I wasn't paying attention yet again b/c of my phone..LOL...I swear I don't have a problem..I can quit whenever I want too! ;) So, back to the story. Nikki says again, "Look, It's Mike!" I was like, yeah....right....Sure enough it was. I thought it was too crazy. We didn't look into his direction but maybe once. Considering that it would be obvious if we were to turn around and just stare. LOL! Seeing him out and at the same resturant was a so strange. So Friday had been our full day of Phelps. We couldnt escape it. LOL
Alright, Im will be back to finish the blog. Im fighting to keep my eyes open. Such a long week. Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend!
