We all know the Kellogg fallout from Mike's photo scandal. Well so far most of Mike's sponsors are backing him up. Yesterday it was noted that Mike made a televised apology to Chinese fans basically echoeing his regrets. Phelps' sponsor in China, Mazda Motor Corp., were happy to accept the apology and move on. He vows to make them proud again, and encourages the youth to stay positive and do the right thing. Like here in America, the Chinese have sent numerous messages of support and encouragement.
Mike wrote a note on his FB fan page basically stating that he's ready to move on and get back to doing what he does best...Im thinking its sleep. Im sure you've heard the stories about the crazed wake up calls Mike was getting last week. People actually using bullhorns to shout proof of their 'hateration.' ( I wonder how many would put down the horns and ask for autographs, hmm) But seriously, he's back in the pool practicing and thinking about his next moves. So maybe your asking, 'Well what is the PP&P doing about all this?' I'll tell you, we've recently agreed to help Team Phelps build up support for Mike through a new FB page, SUPPORT MICHAEL PHELPS NOW! The point of the page is to encourage supporters to join the Phelps Phight against the numerous online haters that sprung up after the scandal broke. Basically all we're doing is telling various outlets our positive feelings towards Mike and the sponsors who continue their support. Phelps Phans are encouraged to add their voices where ever negative comments rear their heads. People can start various blogs, webpages, write to newspapers, mags, tv shows, etc.
As far as the fallout from the photo goes, well there are various stories involving arrests, admissions, and Ebay. All of which are still a jumble of facts v. fiction. Of course if anything comes out solid, you'll be the first...well you'll know pretty quick!
