Cali Nationals are well underway. And guess who's making all the buzz the first day?? None other than Ryan Lochte of course. The first day of Nats had the usual amazing swims, jumbotron views of the Phriends on site, and swim-related stat updates and tweets. BUT Lochte topped it all. He shatters the 400 IM record with a devastating time of 4:09 +change. But before then, he unveiled the new Limited Edition Sneakers he helped design for Speedo. The sneaks arent for sale, but there are really cool flip flops Speedo will sell. And the shoes are totally Lochte. Those who remember last year Ry rocked the gold air pump sneaks. Well these new "Lochtenators" (stole that from a fb comment. Shout out who wrote that, can't remember the name :) represent Ryan TO THE FULLEST, They are flashy, brite green rhinestone, Gator-inspired, throwback hi-tops with RYAN/LOCHTE on the bottoms, and JEAH on the back. We all went BIZERK when we saw them! And the day was even better because it was also Ryan's birthday :) So I just had to make a mention of this event and Im off to see what else will happen the 2nd day of Nationals, which is basically like a Holiday for swimmers and swimfans.
