Suspension

Ok, so Mike was suspended by USA Swimming. He can't compete in any events for the next 3 months. I'm thinking that this is not a really bad thing. They knew they had to do something. Even though I support Mike, I understand the organization's position. They can't look like they condone even the image of illegal behavior. Especially with the controversy of professional athletes and drug use. So although I and so many others want Mike to walk away unscathed, he has to get just a little slap for all of this.

So Tony the Tiger is a little miffed too. Rumor is that Kellogg's will not renew MP contract after this month. Good thing I sent off for my MP poster w/ those 3 box tops. And the Olympic Committee seeks a meeting w/ him. It makes you think about getting sent to the principle's office, and the principle, vice principle, teacher, superintendant are waiting for you. All kidding aside, these actions and Mike's reaction to them help to calm the waters.

I think it shows alot of class and maturity on Mike's part to just deal with the media, sponsors, and high ranking athletic officials in a calm collected way. Yes sponsors leaving, suspensions, calls from the Olympic committee are very embarrassing, but I'm hoping nothing worse happens from all of this.

So we can pretty much be sure that whatever frustration, anger, or whatever, Mike might feel, he will pour that energy into the pool.
