Anticipation rises as I see the little red alert sign at the bottom of my FB page. Its a funny thing, I always get a little twinge of excitment seeing that little red sign. Everytime I see it, I always wonder if that certain person sent me a message, or whether or not a certain swimmer finally, finally, FINALLY accepted that friend request. But every once in a while, its something even better.
Sometimes that little red flag is a signal to tell me that someone just commented on a photo. And more often than not, that photo is on the page of PPP member Kim, The Queen of the Pic Wall. Some of you may ask, 'Why? Whats so special about her photos?' They're totally AMAZING! Thats why! I dont know how she does it, when she started doing it, or where she finds them, but Kim has blessed us with so many unbelievably beautiful pix of Michael Fred that I think we (PPP) secretly begin to judge all images of him based on her photos. On the Phelps Phive and Phriends page, we have well over 15oo photos of Mike or his friends. I guess a good 80% come from Kim.
And for the majority of those 1500 pix we offer a...colorful variety of comments. We notice everything from lighting, set design, graphics, and Photoshop, to hair styles, wardrobe, and...adjustments. I think thats why I and a few others often go back to the photo section of our page. If we need images for any project we're doing, Kim's pix make the cut.
I call her the Queen because she's the only PPP member who has so many albums of Michael and other swimmers. Im pretty proud of our picture wall. Most of us contributed to the collection and we continue to post whatever images we can find. Of course being that the pix are on the PPP wall, the comments range from merely simple admiration, to absolute criticism. The criticism is always tempered with the one rock solid fact: Michael Phelps is the most amazing person on the planet. Ok, a little melodramatic, but you get the idea. All Im saying is that those pix have inspired so many cool creations and fantastic fantasies.
That's why when I see certain magazines, book covers, calendars, etc, I sometimes wish they had asked US what looks good for Mike and what doesn't. Yes, we are that good :) Take a look at Exibit A above.
